Hornbill treat of the East
Mostly missing from mainstream media but full with amazing experiences, The Nagas represent the isolated tribes in the northeast India. One of a kind, the Hornbill Festival, named after the famous hornbill bird found in the state, is the coming together of all the tribes along with tourists and visitors from all over the world to celebrate. Enter a world unlike anything you have ever experienced, as you go tribal home-hopping in the festival, with a mouthful of eastern appetisers, a classic rice beer in your hand, watching a war dance in one place and may be a harvest dance in the next.
The evening is filled with dancing around bonfires and friendly sports of tug of war and wrestling where eager crowds cheer for the players from the stands. You can go exploring into the wooden huts of the tribes where they cook their favourite culinary treats for you.
